- If you are planning to keep the roses in the vase, it is best recommended to cut a quarter inch from the bottom of the stem in a diagonal way. The diagonally cut stem will increase the surface area. It will keep the stem from sitting at the bottom of the vase.
- Make sure the vase in which you are going to place the roses is neat and clean. The best is to fill the vase with lukewarm water and put some flower food in the vase. If you notice any leaf falling in the water, you may cut it as it may rot inside and it may cause wilting of roses.
- To further increase the longevity of the roses, you should trim the stems every other day or thrice a week. This way, the stem shows new tissues to be placed back in the water. You can also change the water and floor food if needed. Keep a check on the water to not get cloudy.
